Continuing from this post, after we're done shopping for souvenirs, we rushed to the subway station to avoid rush hour to get to Myeongdong before 6PM. Korea during autumn gets dark very early or maybe it was just me, I mean, I woke up at 5AM the entire time I was there and it was bright and sunny like it was 9AM. I think it's just me. Anyway, we got to Myeongdong just in time before rush hour and started searching for that Dakgalbi place. We asked the tourist information guiders for some help and within minutes, we found it. It was on the 3rd floor if I'm not mistaken. Above other restaurants and opposite ABC Mart.
The tourist information guiders wore red head-to-toe outfit with Myeongdong maps with multiple languages in their bags and they speak in multiple language too. So if you're planning on going to Myeongdong, and don't know where you need to go, look for them, there's a couple in every junction so it won't be too hard for some people to find them.

I love taking photos of buses and I don't know why. I'm scared of buses to be honest. Never once I rode a bus when I was there, I'd rather walk or die (lol!) than taking a bus. If you asked me why? Maybe because I had bad experiences every time I rode it here in my country. I know not all buses is the same but it still scares me. Plus I have terrible sense of directions and I'd ended up at different places every time I took the public transportation all by myself. And during our trip, I lead all my friends because I'm the only one who can read the Hangul, my other friend could too but she's a bit slower. I was surprised with myself on how good I was using the subway, I only missed our stops twice, that was because I was distracted. But buses? I don't trust myself with that. Maybe one day, I would give myself a chance to overcome my fear on riding the bus.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
We were so tired from all the walking and photo taking so the moment we got there, everyone was on the phone updating our family members about our day while waiting for the food to be served. Here, they have free-flow (반찬) side dishes cart where you can enjoy and refill side dishes how much you wanted, such as kimchi, pickle radish, veggies, gochujang (chilli paste) or something like that. I wish Mr. Dakgalbi here would do something like that but hey, it's Malaysia we're talking about, they will charge for literally EVERYTHING! Even for a packet of tissue. Yup, some dakgalbi charge you for tissue packets but so far Solaris branch did not.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
We ordered the Seafood Dakgalbi for KRW30,000 (for 3-4 pax) without the rice so if you want to have rice with it, so you will have to add-on KRW1,000 per bowl of rice. I only had a few pieces of the squid then I stopped because it's too spicy for me. I have a very sensitive stomach and I refused to risk myself from getting sick. The food was good but definitely not for someone like me. So I patiently waiting for them to finish up before I made way to the grocery story downstairs to cook myself a proper dinner at home. I think my sister would love this. She loves everything spicy and she's obsessed with Gochujang.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
So that was our dinner for that day. If it were less spicy, I'd devour everything right off the pan. I'm glad all my friends loved it. We were craving for something sweet right after dinner so we walked around Myeongdong street trying to find something sweet to eat. There were so many choices that we had a hard time choosing because everything look so good. Me and Ayu bought the fish-shaped red bean pastries — or Croissant Bungeoppang 크로와상 붕어빵 before making our way to buy some groceries nearby. The night did not end with a fish-shaped red bean pastry though, I will post the next story very soon.
Thank you for reading. Much love, T.
trying the croissant bungeoppang 크로와상 붕어빵, not the best one but worth a try. Too flaky and hard to bite. |

korea is so beautiful..I reallt want to go to Myeongdong!
ReplyDeleteIt really was. You should go there sometime when you get the chance.
DeleteAhhhhh I miss Korea so much. We went to Yoogane for dinner too since I stayed in myeongdong and the place is quite near to our guesthouse.
ReplyDeleteI can still imagine and see the place clearly in my mind now. We walk there like every single day and night.
Wanders the night market and tried so many food there. I don't like crowds but being there seems to be a bit different.
It's a different feeling (better I think) when you're in a crowd somewhere else other than in your own country. Have you ever felt like that?
I already miss Korea so much. How wonderful to be staying in Myeongdong. It would be impossible for me to get any accommodations in Myeongdong, Mapo or Itaewon. Too expensive.
DeleteI know right? Everything is so vivid that I can still smell the gochujang right now.
I felt the same way! I hate crowded place but I love it there, not just there but like you said, somewhere else other than our own country. And Myeongdong somehow has a special place in everyone's heart who have been there.
I agreed. I wish I can go back there again someday. maybe after I finish my postgraduate study.
DeleteIn shaa Allah. Aamiin. Pray for Raydah.
Yeah it's kinda. Thank god our place is very near to their subway station. We had fun going here and there XD.
I really want to go there during Spring time and and immersed in the season of blossoming flowers.
DeleteJust curious to see how it'd turn out (in photos).
Yes yes! I'll pray for you.
Country that has so many easy-access public transport will always be my favourite.
Actually let's pray for the both of us. hehe
DeleteOh yes, praying for the both of us because I'm not getting enough of that city.
DeleteStill want to explore more of it.
This post come at the right time because I'm making a trip to Seoul this December. Dari susah fikir baik i refer blog u je. Yazz. Setel.
ReplyDeleteThank you Rasya.
DeleteI just got back from South Korea and I wish I could share all my itineraries and all the good eateries right here right now.
You can always find me on my social media if you ever need any good places to eat and visit. I'd be happy to share it with you :)
wahhh , dah tukar templete . Cantikkkk sangat !!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful korea , hope i'll be there someday .
Thank youuuu hahaha ha'ah haritu rasa macam tak puas tengok gambar kecik, so decided nak tukar yang one column, ngam2 favourite template designer release template baru and tengah sale so, rembat je lah mana ada.
DeleteThankfully I didn't take long to change and tweak it.
I hope you will get to see the beautiful city one day too.
the food looks delicious.. and your hair is beautiful (i assume its you, the one with long hair :D)
ReplyDeleteTo people who loves spicy food, it's a great place to eat and delicious too.
DeleteHahaha that was me thank you for noticing :D
Samalah kita.. perut tak tahan pedas.. teringin nak cuba red bean pastries tu..
ReplyDeleteYeay ada geng! Sedap Sha but better cari yang bungeoppang biasa daripada croissant bungeppang ni sebab yang croissant ni keras sikit, bila gigit bersepah-sepah kerak dia.
Deletebila lah nk ke korea agaknya... selalu sangat layan drama korea sampai teringat-ingat gitu...
ReplyDeletecantik templete baru, baru nampak jelas tuan punya blog yang comel
Pelan-pelan planning kak, macam saya 2 tahun planning, mula2 tengok gambar tempat2 best dekat instagram atau blog, lepas tu tengok tiket flight, then tengok harga airbnb, lepas tu check pula keperluan anak buah dinegara orang sebab dia masih baby, akhirnya, Alhamdulillah sampai dah, dua kali.
Deletehahaha thank you kak, tu lah template yang sebelum ni rasa tak puas tengok gambar dekat post sendiri.
Saya harap and berdoa agar akak pun dapat jejak kaki ke Korea juga satu hari nanti.
Sis... There's NCT in your blog everywhere! I LOVEEEE NCT TOOOOO ! Btw, maybe I should put this in my list in case I'll travel to Korea again. Went to Korea before but not sure what kind of food I tried though lol.. I was more focused on the scenery, the buildings as well as all the kpop stuff I saw everywhere ahahahhaha!
ReplyDeleteYou love NCT too??!! hahaha yeay ada geng lagi hehe
DeleteI did the same too, whenever I see a blog with informative content, I will bookmark it just in case, sometimes I will screenshot it and put everything into one folder.
I'm pretty sure your trip is better than mine. I was there for kpop stuff before but I couldn't find much so I focused more on the scenery, buildings and korean culture around me and around the place that I stayed at.
u buat akak jadi teringat2 mengopi di area Myeongdong. org busy shopping, kami busy coffee.. macam teringin nak fly now. hehehehe.. nice pictures.. suka tgk besar2.
ReplyDeleteKan? Rasa rindu pula padahal baru je balik.
DeleteSamalah, saya sibuk makan, orang lain sibuk shopping hehe
Repeat lah akak hehehe :)
i ate there once.. bolehla but it was not to my liking. tapi if kawan2 tanya i suggest je suruh pergi because that place dah viral and almost every Malaysian pergi. they have to experience it on their own that they can make their judgement.
ReplyDeleteohoo rindu Korea !! one day oooone day nak pergi lagi.
Kan? Not my cup of tea too. I prefer somewhere else. Tempat yang tak viral and tak ramai yang experience.
DeleteBanyak lagi tempat boleh makan sebenarnya tapi time ni, kawan2 mengidam, so saya bawak je lah :)
Betul! Kalau kawan tanya, saya bawak je nanti suka ke tak, itu terpulang, janji aku dah bawak dah.
Saya pun baru balik ni, trip kali kedua haha trip yang pertama pun tak habis post lagi.
Saya doakan supaya dapat pegi lagi :)
Tahap kepedasan makanan korea agak lain macam pedas dia. Kadang tu tak boleh tahan rasanya. Seafood Dakgalbi tu nampak sedap belum pernah cuba lagi di Malaysia. Dapat makan original food korea kat korea rasanya mesti lagi sedap kan. Penat ambil gambar tu sudah semestinya tapi puas hati :)
ReplyDeleteHa'ah baru2 ni Tqa makan sotong dekat sana and pedas dia mak aih! Terus tak jadi makan. Chili paste dia lain macam haha
DeleteYou have to try it, be it in Korea or Malaysia, sedap! I like to have it at Mr. Dakgalbi in Solaris Mont Kiara sebab owner branch tu Korean and patrons usually tak ramai so memang dia yang akan masakkan, so memang sedaplah air tangan orang korea sendiri.
Yesss! I second that! Memang penat tapi berbaloi, yelah nanti rindu bolehlah tengok balik gambar2 tu.
uiiii nampak pedas la hehehe
ReplyDeletenot just 'nampak' tapi memang pedas hahahaha siapa yang suka makanan pedas tu boleh lah datang sini, saya taubat tak datang dah hahaha
DeleteI've never seen a bus with so many flags and texts on it and I'm pretty sure that's not the most extra one right? Hahaha. Tho we don't share the same reasons, I don't like buses as well. Hoping that my dad will let me drive from KL to Terengganu and vice versa by next year.
ReplyDeleteDakgalbi do? I mean, charge for the tissue packets? Wow. I've been there once but we didn't ask for tissues. Well, true that, it's Malaysia after all :p
God those dishes look so good. "There were so many choices that we had a hard time choosing because everything look so good" Hahahaha. I'm jealous! One of these days, I'm gonna go to South Korea, I don't care hmph! >:(
I didn't realise about that at all until you mentioned it haha and yes that's not the most extra one.
DeleteI just don't... like... buses.. and I'm not good at it. Praying that your father will let you drive to KL from Terengganu :)
Yeah, I remembered I needed a tissue for the chilli paste made a mess around my mouth, but they charged it. kan... sabar je lah.
Indeed they were a lot of choices, depends on how much you're willing to fork out. Yes yes! I hope you get to visit South Korea soon and eat to your heart's content. Whenever I travel, I put my diet and money issues aside and just enjoy all the food so I won't have any regrets.
I need to visit Myeongdong soon! There are so many things I want to do there. ♥
ReplyDeletewww.mooeyandfriends.com
I hope you have a strong willpower to not overspend because I failed hahaha
DeleteCan't wait to see what you manage to get in Myeongdong :)
