How I Edit My Photos (Fade Preset)

As I mentioned in this post, I will be sharing how I did my photos using the Lightroom preset that I received from my friend. So if you really like fade effect, then this preset/tutorial is for you. It's not really my style but I have to admit that I use it a few times to edit photos that I think won't go well with my usual preset. Mostly photos with lots of colours and background images. I will try to make it as simple as I could, just follow these steps:

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ THE BASIC Temp: +6 Tint: +1 Exposure: +1.15 Contrast: -2 Highlights: +14 Shadows: +60 Whites: +40 Blacks: +29 You don't have to adjust the clarity, whites and blacks in the basic section as well as the selective colours if your photo editor doesn't have those features. Just skip these steps. For me, I can't skip the selective colours editor because I always relying on it to fix unwanted colours in my photos. Below are a few 'before & after photos (from Unsplash) and for examples. All the before photos are unedited except for the last photo, I purposely choose bright and airy photo for a different example. You can see the colour consistency of the edited photos.

You can adjust the brightness, contrast, and highlight to your liking. If it's too luminescing, try to decrease the whiteness, contrast or highlight. If you want it darker, do decrease the blackness, shadow and contrast. The selective colours can be adjusts if the apps you are using on your phone/computer are available.

I'd love to use VSCO but I don't have the time to transfer all the photos from my laptop to my phone and then to the laptop again. I preferred to do everything in one device, so that is why I have this preset ready in my Lightroom so I can use it with just one click, and I'm done. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

If your blog or instagram has a dark or moody style to it then this edit is the one for you. Fade effect gives off moody vibe to your photos which is why I love to use this preset when I'm in a rush or when my photo is not suitable for bright and airy edits like I do for all my photos.
