Cafe | Hooraywu, Cheras

CAFE HOPPING. The last time I did that literally hopping from one cafe to another was back in 2019 when I was in South Korea during Autumn. I remembered that I went to 7 cafes in one day all by myself while my friend went to Namsan Tower. Now you know why I hate wasting my time going to places like N Tower or observatories because I'd rather spent my time going from places to places than spending so much time at one place.

Anyway, back to the main topic, the same thing in KL (cafe hopping) was years ago so when my friend finally got a week off from her schedule-pack work, she asked me to choose the place for us spend our entire day and because of that, I got excited because I am finally able to go to the cafes that I've been wanting to try but couldn't due to quarantine (RMO). I decided to go to 3 cafes since the greed of my friend's limited day off got the best of me and I want to use the best of the entire day by enjoying good food and coffee with my one and only friend.

Somehow most cafes that I wanted to go to requires reservation so I went a little crazy by making reservations not 2, not 3 but 4 cafes but then I cancelled one because I felt bad leaving my sister all alone at home with her baby so I want to be home early. Am I the only who often feels that way? Feeling bad for leaving my family behind whenever I go out even though my family go out every week without me? hahaha
My reservations was like:
12PM for Hooraywu
3PM for Flos Cafe
4PM for Ones. Store
I know the gap between Flos and Ones. are ridiculously close but trust me, it went unexpectedly well. Will tell more about that on Flos cafe blog post. Actually one of the cafe the reservation was not mandatory but I won't take my chances.

The first cafe that we went to was HoorayWu. Not sure what it means. It's a weekend-only home cafe. Parking was a breeze because the moment we got there, there was a vacant spot right in front of the house. After all the mandatory check-in and other Covid19 SOP that they left outside the porch for self-scanning etc, I rang the doorbell and welcomed with empty cafe, all ours before it slowly starts getting crowded.

To those who have been reading all my cafe posts, they probably know why I love empty cafes. I can take so many photos without having to edit or blur people out of my photos and videos. Got a perfect seat by the window right away just like any other cafes, order can be made at the counter.

The star of this cafe in my opinion, the Black Sesame cake

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
I ordered their hot Mocha (RM14) and my friend got the Grapefruit Kombucha (RM12). We also ordered a Black Sesame cake and Matcha Biscoff Brownie. They did not provide a receipt so I don't know how much the cake and brownie costs. This cafe really suits all coffee lovers and for non-coffee drinker, this cafe would be a little unpleasant to hang out at because the only non-coffee based drink that they have is Kombucha. If you're not familiar with how Kombucha taste like then that could be a problem too. I tasted it and I don't like it. It smells like Red Wine ⏤ I know that because when I hang out with my non-muslim friends, they often had red wine so I was familiar with the smell but not sure about the taste though. The fermented sour taste does not suits me haha but I am glad that my friend enjoyed it.

I love how calming this cafe was and what I like the most was the fact that this cafe is kid-friendly which I thought wasn't in the first place. 20 minutes in, a family of 3 came in with a small kid and I was so relieved because I know I can come back again with my sister and her kid. Also all the staffs are very friendly and I think friendly attitude possessed by people who work in customer service industries is everything and very important because one friendly smile can automatically brighten up my mood and possibly makes me want to spend more money on what they are selling.

The reason that I choose to go to this cafe is because of its interior decoration. The food comes 2nd and normally that's not how I choose where I want to go for a cup of coffee but because I saw this cafe's interior on social media is so much like how I wish my home looks like so I go with this one despite the mediocre beverage selections. I love how they mostly use dried flowers like I did in my house, it really goes well with the whole minimalist vibe that they are trying to express in this place. Will I come back? Probably, for the cake.

    1. Tangan akak ni kalau dah masuk kat dalam mana2 cafe memang automatic tak boleh duduk diam. Balik nanti pening kepala nak pilih pastu nak post kat IG pun tergendala sebab banyak sangat susah nak pilih.

For less patrons, I suggests you go on weekdays before or after lunch hour. I always do that and takde orang pun kat cafe2 tu semua.

Nasib baik tiga-tiga cafe yang akak pegi that day takde orang so we got the whole place to ourselves. Staff dia pun macam faham, lepas hantar order dorang terus memerap dekat station dorang.
Sedap gila Tashira kek tu. I wish you could taste it.

    1. Hahaha kan? Harga normal cafe kat KL. Boleh dapat yang lebih baik somewhere else I assume.
Tapi Hot Mocha dia memang sedap sebab boleh rasa chocolate dia tak macam mocha lain yang chocolatenya hanya rasa dalam 10%.

Sebab nampak a glimpse of their kitchen, nampak macam kitchen rumah biasa. But I wish I could verify that.
Kan? Kalau rumah memang ada ruang, why not?
