S. Korea | Namsan (Ft. Seoul Comics Road 재미로)

I don't know why I stopped posting about my 2016 Korea trip because it's far from over so please excuse for continuing this very old post of mine from this post, I just want to clear some space in my hard disk with all the photos waiting to be expose but I just let them rot in there. So let me start with Namsan. Not really a place that I look forward to, in fact I never really want to go to places like Namsan Tower or an observatory but my friends really wanted to see it during night time so I just followed them to make sure they didn't get lost ⏤ as the only person who can read Korean and lead everyone, it's kind of my duty to go everywhere with them.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
They decided to check out Namsan area and Tower after we had dinner at Myeongdong. Namsan is only a few miles away from the bustling Myeongdong. So we climbed up the hill to Namsan neighbourhood because I really hate taking the bus and since it was not that far off from where we were had our dinner. Took us a while to get there but the way down is faster than I thought and quite enjoyable because we walked through Namsan village which I didn't know existed.

So I will let you guys enjoy the photos of Namsan at night because to be honest, there's nothing more to write since I forgot most of the details, I apologised for that.

Along the way, we found so many cute and flowery cafes that we kind of regret not stopping by. It was because they were trying to make it to N Tower in time to rush back home with the last train at 11PM. It was already 9PM when we got there so we skipped everything in sight. But I do make sure to capture some of the best looking cafes just for my eyes, so I can look back and said, "oh this place existed!" My favourite out of all cafes that I saw was Coffee Antique. It's really pretty and it's the type of cafe that you can only see in K-Dramas but it's really here.

Namsan is well-known for its Tonkatsu but since we can't eat it, we just wander around and take pictures in the area. I hope you guys enjoy looking at all the photos. You can smell the delicious aroma of perfectly cooked, crispy Tonkatsu even while you walk around the area because 80% of the eateries here served Tonkatsu. And I also found the restaurant that 2 Days 1 Night (S3) member Cha Taehyun went to. Oh I wish they have halal version of Tonkatsu but that would be impossible because it's like asking for a fish Schnitzel because it's going to ruin the originality of the taste. Might as well eat Fish & Chips. I'm a pescatarian by the way, that's why I talk about fish instead of Chicken. Kalau chicken pun, belum tentu boleh makan kat luar negara.

Since we all said no N Tower, we decided to check out Zaemiro (Seoul Comics Road) that was just next to Seoul Animation Center. You can find all sorts of cartoon and comic murals here. Not something that you can find at typical tourist spot like Ihwa Mural Village that to me is kind of overrated. My favourite is the Studio Ghibli and Nickelodeon's cartoon mural but too bad Adam didn't take any photos of those. Maybe one day, if I get the chance to visit Seoul again, I'll make sure to visit this place in a broad daylight because the neighbourhood is really pretty even at night.

You can find tons of quirky cafes, guesthouse and art stores that you never expected.  You'll be surprised to see a bunch of cartoons statues welcoming you to the guesthouse. So cute! I wish I know the name of the guesthouse though.

This girl really was a consistent customer. Each time we passed this particular station, I think it was Myeongdong Station, she MUST stop by to get a bag of Delimanjoo because she really loves it. I've lost count of how many times she had that snacks throughout our stays here. Before we headed home and rest, she made a quick stop at Delimanjoo to get a few bags of those goodness. It's tasted better when it's still hot and warm. Preferably warm because the filling can burn your tongue haha.

I am glad that Adam came with us because he's such a a great photographer. He take photos of us in the most candid moments that we could ever asked. I often need to asked everyone to take my photos in certain ways but with Adam, I don't need to tell him anything. Although he needs to work on the angle and composition or better yet, framing. But other than that, I love all the photos he took. This is why it is fun to travel with friends who loves taking photos because you know you'll have a fair share of your photos.

What I mean is, imagine if you're the only person who takes photos of everyone when traveling but no one take photos for you. At the end of the day all your friends will have tons of photos to keep or share on social medias but you have none. When it comes to traveling or hanging out, I love having people with the same passion as me. I hope you guys understand what I'm trying to say.

Anyway, now I'm working on my Myeongdong Underground Mall content for a new blog post. And I seriously hope that this will not flop because I really need to get this done so I can move on to my 2019 Autumn trip. I hate having all my blog posts piling up and the next thing I know, 3 years has passed, so please pray for me on this one. Is anyone here who's not into Namsan Tower like I do? Because I think I'm the only one haha. Thank you for reading. Much love, T.

  2. I'm not a fan of Namsan as well. Sekali pergi kira cukuplah. On the other hand, tak pernah dengar pun pasal Seoul Comics Road. This is interesting. Teringin juga nak pergi.

I totally understand what you were trying to say on having the same passion as you. I don't take good pictures but I'm a little bit better than most of my social circle. It is indeed frustrating when you were the only one taking pictures of your friends and they didn't return the same favor :(

    1. Tak taulah, rasa membazir masa pegi mercu tanda or observatory macam tu. Maybe to some, N Tower is one of the best place for tourist but not for me. But I guess once in a lifetime is a great opportunity.

Seoul Comics Road tu sapa yang balik ke Myeongdong jalan kaki, mesti akan tempuh cuma tak famous macam Ihwa dan sebagainya. once dah pegi mesti rasa best sebab ada macam2 kat situ.

Kan? It would be nice to have your photos taken without you having to give instructions on how you want your photos to be taken. It gives some sort of appreciation to see my photos in the camera that I didn't know my friends took them.

    1. I forgot to bring my travel journal but I do write them all in my notes on my phone because every pictures I took was meant for my blog so I need as much details as I could.

OMG me too! I have so many backlogs that I'm still trying to publish without making it irrelevant.
Thank you and I can't wait for that too.
