August was cool. I did a lot of stuff with my family and my ultimate favourite has to be our trip to Changlun. I've only heard of it and never actually been to that part of the north. I'm planning to write a full post about it but then I remembered I didn't really took enough pictures for that so we'll see how that goes, maybe a short recap of everything instead of a full post. Back to the main topic, my favourites in August. I must say this is like the first time where I didn't put up many food photos like I always did every other month. This is a very short one and yes, no NCT this month. I'm tired of those idiots sometimes. So, here's my August Favourites.
MOTM: SIXTEEN CANDLES (1984)
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
This movie came out in the 80s that was why I didn't even know this movie existed, until Lara Jean (Lana Condor) from To All The Boys I've Loved Before mentioned it about the hand-in-the-back-pocket-opening-image and this being her favourite movie. Then The Rock mentioned it in Central Intelligence movie as one of his favourite movie too. I searched for this movie high and low and I finally found it in HD *good job Tqa*.
I did watched it that night all by myself and it was good! But The Breakfast Club and Pretty In Pink is still my favourite with Molly Ringwald in it, and The Kissing Booth. I know TKB doesn't count but I like seeing her in it. Regardless, this movie will be in my chick flicks folder.

NEW KEYBOARD COVER
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Decided to ditch the pink keyboard cover since I used that long enough and go back to basic with black cover and I love how it feels on my skin. The pink one has a bit sticky material but this one is smooth, a high quality-like silicone. The best thing about this cover and the pink one is that it grips the keyboard nice and tight, better than the Monocozzi cover that I bought from Machine (Malaysia Apple Store) which always move around if I type too fast. Can you believe it if I say that I got the Monocozzi keyboard for RM160 while the better two for only RM3 (pink) and RM6 (black)? I guess some expensive stuff isn't that great after all. Same goes with earphones but that's a different story that I will surely share one day with you guys. Sometimes the cheaper the items, the better.

WASHI TAPES (GIVEAWAY PRIZES)
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
I won a giveaway last month and blog about it here. These one is my ultimate favourite from last month. I already used one one of them because the colour is so pretty I just couldn't resist. I need more ideas to pop in my head fast so I could create more bujo spread using other colours from this set too. I might going to look for more inspirations on pinterest or instagram for a little bit of boost.

SISTER'S OPEN SANDWICH
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
My sister and I loveeee diet food and we love to experiment with different tastes and lately she's into open sandwiches and organic button mushroom. She kept making open sandwiches for me every time she did hers and so far, this is my favourite. I love the tangy taste of the roasted sesame salad dressing paired with the button mushroom and scrambled eggs. And we often use breads from Family Mart because it's milk bread and you can taste it in every bite. It was really good and easy to make.

TRIP TO THE NORTH & A WEDDING
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
This is my first time travel to the furthest part of the north. Perlis is the smallest state in Malaysia buy I have yet explore the 10% of the if. I mean I went to Kuala Perlis before but never the other part like Kangar or Arau. We used to go there only to wait for ferry to carry us and our car to Langkawi Island or Tioman Island but this time it was totally different. I get to actually explore the state. I traveled with brother-in-law's family, with 4 cars we convoyed all the way from Taiping to Changlun near Bukit Kayu Hitam for his 3rd brother's wedding. We were there for 3D2N. And right after the wedding on the 2nd day, we headed to Kangar for I don't even remember what, it was boring that day, I think it was Titi Gantung or something like that. From one part to another take such a long drive that all I could remember was sitting in the car longer than sleeping in our guesthouse. And on the last day, before heading back to Taiping, they brought me to Padang Besar for a little shopping. I was super excited to eat all the food especially 'Lokching' (did I spell that correctly?) but sadly, for 3 days I was there, I couldn't find a single stall that sell Lokching, like wth??
The best part of the trip is that our accommodation is just a few feet away from Malaysia - Thailand border and I totally forgot to bring my passport otherwise we would have gone there for a little more shopping. It was a nice trip with 6 big families that I know I will never have. Instead of food shopping, I ended up bought a giant Didi soft toys from Didi & Friends for my little baby Jayden and lots of mini apples and mini grapes for my dad back home. Kat KL mahal nok benda alah tu.
So basically we were all over the state, one minute in Kedah and the next we were in Perlis and all of a sudden we're back in Kedah yadayada.. but it was fun.

MUJI NOTEBOOK
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
I promised on my previous post to share the last look of my Muji notebook and here it is. It's so ugly and so 'me'. I like anything that looks messy and different from other people. I purposely decorated it with a bunch of stickers I got from every parts of the world and most of them related to NCT. It's a mess but I like it that way because it's easier for me to distinguishes between other same design notebooks that I have. This messy one is for random note taking and for blogging. I write everything here first before typing it down on my laptop. That way I could save time from zoning out in front of the screen trying to find the right words.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
That's it for my August favourites. I personally thought it would consist lots of food photos but Alhamdulillah last month I didn't spend that much on food since my sister often fixed my meal. This month, although it's too early to tell but I already have some favourites written in that ugly notebook of mine in case I'd forgot about it. I also have a few movies in my list that I look forward to watch. Time went by so fast that sometime I think I had a hard time catching up.
How was your August? Thank you for reading. Much love, T.

where do you buy the new keyboard cover?
ReplyDeleteI bought it at Shopee. (link)
DeleteSuper cheap!
I love the movie title, "Sixteen Candles" has a nice ring to it. I don't really watch chick flicks anymore (can't help but feel a bit jealous if I do aha!), but I do remember some of my favourites; Dear John, The Notebook and The Vow. All because of Rachel McAdams and Channing Tattum hahaha. Btw, the black keyboard protector looks so nice. I am so gonna get that. And yess, you managed to influence me to buy plain washi tapes as well! Gotta thank Shopee for the crazy sales muahaha.
ReplyDeleteAh... I'm hungry looking at that sandwich. And I wonder if I'm gonna get the chance to visit Family Mart one day sigh.. Btw, I was in Kedah for 5 years but never once I've been to Padang Besar I don't even know why. But I still got a chance to go there cause my sis study there hehe. I'll be sure to visit at least once >:3
AND THE MUJI NOTEBOOK, it's NOT UGLY at all! Love the stickers especially the cassette tape. Soo cute! As for my August, I'd say its one of the best months in 2019 hehe. So many good things happened, few bad ones but lessons learnt. Hopefully our September will be better :3
I love the title too. It was about an adolescent turning 16 but her entire family forgot to wish her happy birthday and then something happened at school etc etc. It was good though.
DeleteMe too! I hate rom com because I can't help but get entirely jealous of the fantasy. Dear John is my fave too.
Go get it babe, it grips better and I love the feel of the smooth silicone. I typed better because of it. Shopee is bad for us! It's a wallet blackhole. You might go bankrupt in one sitting. Aliexpress too! The free shipping and the cheaper-than-shopee price tag is super tempting.
You lived there for 5 years? That's cool! Tu lah, selalu juga ke Kedah sebab most of my maternal's family residing in Kedah but this is the first time I actually get to visit that part of the state. To be honest, you didn't miss anything. Rasa macam pasar biasa but more Thai infused food in it. Banyak makanan yang takde dekat KL. Kalau ada pun mungkin mahal like the mini fruits. Dekat MBG mahal.
Tbh, when it comes to Padang Besar, I love the journey more than the destination. I love the view along the way, so peaceful and green. But make sure to bring handy fan sebab dekat sana panas lit lit. But thankfully masa kami pergi, it was cloudy so takdelah panas, nasib baik dah habis shopping baru hujan.
The casette sticker is my favourite among other stickers that I bought. I need to learn how to make my own stickers so I can create more instead of spending money on it. I'm glad to hear that your August was the best this year. True, I hope September will be nice to us inshaAllah.
I never went to Thailand even I did go to Perlis very very much often. I wonder what its look like up there humm. Great sharing T, I like reading ur blog a lot.
ReplyDeleteOften go to Perlis? Ah, I am jealous, I love the place!
DeleteThank you AZ!
I'm glad that you can relate about the "jealousy" part hahaha. It's like, I'm happy for them, but I care for my mental and emotional health at the same time (oh god, pardon my level of exaggeration). I decided no more rom com stuff on my watching list or I'm gonna make wrong decisions and stupid late night calls again. Sigh.. boy problems ceh hahaha. "Cheaper than Shopee"?! Okay, imma stalk Aliexpress soon. Tho I really can't buy anything online anymore cause I'm officially broke (curse that wallet blackhole :P). The downside of being jobless urgh.. I can't wait to start working!
ReplyDelete5 or 6 years hehe. I studied there. Ah I see..was it like a bigger version of Thai food festivals? I love Thai food! Especially Tomyam and Yum Mama. Lord I'm a sucker for those two, yumms. Panas lit lit; lama tak dengar hahaha. I totally get you! OMG, Perlis panas gila. I remember sleeping at my friend's house. It was so hot that I was sweating all over, even inside the house with the fans switched on. Pagi sampai petang mandi peluh even I literally didn't do anything. Maybe it's just that time of the year. I totally salute orang Perlis boleh tahan that kind of panas XD
Totally supporting you on DIY-ing your own stickers. I did try making my own years ago, of course I was just using that normal sticker paper and normal printer. It wasn't that good so I stopped. But I remember seeing a specific machine for printing and cutting stickers online? Bet that thing is expensive LOL. I wish there's an alternative that I can try to make better quality yet cheap DIY stickers. Do tell if you succeed in making some.
Thanks for your visits and the long comments tqa. Enjoy the rest of your day! <3
True! It's unrealistic and unhealthy for my single heart. haha but I can live with the unrealistic part, I mean Hogwarts is not real too but I very much would like to go there someday .
DeleteOne thing you need to know about Aliexpress that there's a catch about their 'free shipping' policy. You need to have great patience because all aliexpress stuff arrived in about A MONTH and some 2 MONTHS! So if u planned to use something that u need to buy from Aliexpress, buy it 2-3 months earlier sebab shipping lambat sangat. Barang dah murah, dah free shipping pulak, that's why they torture us with the waiting game.
Don't worry, I'm jobless too. Harapkan allowance bulanan from my dad je haha
Nahh, I think Thai Food Festival is better hahaha! It's mostly Thai infused Malaysian food. And most of them that I've never seen before. You may have seen some before because I never went to Thai Food Fest, I only saw it from the outside. Fuhhh panas betul. But thankfully last month, it was always raining at late noon. Kan? Mandi pun berpeluh, our homestay is pretty big, with 6 huge families stay together under one roof, 20+ people waiting for the bathroom turns and all air-conditioning house but STILL BERPELUH! damn. Me too!
Yes, still looking for the perfect sticker printing machine that has multiple purpose like normal paper printing etc. I know right? It must be really expensive. Will do!
You're welcome and likewise ❤️
My August was pretty good but I'm looking forward to September now + I love your minimalist aesthetic! That notebook cover is so cool and definitely one a kind! ♡
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying my September so far I hope you do too. Thank you so much.
DeleteI'll try to make it a bit different than the rest of my notebooks.
for me, the muji notebook tak nampak buruk pun tapi cantikkkkkkkk! i usually decorated macam tu gak but somehow tak nampak cantik macam kak tqa punya hahaha lol. i'm currently tgh intermittent fasting & that sandwich looks sooooooooo yummyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!! ughhh & i love mushrooms! boleh lah nak copy resipi ni nanti hehe
ReplyDeleteAww Thank you Tashira. I purposely decorated it like that. Hahaha Takpe the messier the better!
DeleteOops sorry that you have to see that but it was really yummy. I love mushrooms too especially button.
Sure2! It's very simple to make.
Oh! I love their lokching when I go to Padang Besar. Tak dapat masuk Thailand pun takpe, janji dapat makan makanan orang Thai. HAHA Selalu kalau pergi Padang Besar mesti cari MAKANAN! Hihi btw, that sandwich looks tempting. Lapar >,<
ReplyDeleteTqa langsung tak dapat rasa Lokching. Sedih betul. Balik taiping terus balun satay ikan sampai 20 batang.
DeleteKan? Bila dah pegi baru tau, tak dapat masuk Thailand pun takpe kat situ pun dah banyak makanan Thai. Beras Thai pun ada.
Kami banyak beli buah and jeruk jambu, sedap pulak jeruk tu. And that's coming from someone who doesn't eat pickle.
Hahaha it looks tempting kan? Sorry for that. I'm having it right now as I'm writing to you hehehe
It has been a yearsssss since my last trip to Changlun.
ReplyDeleteThat notebook is so cuteeee!!!
Btw, where did you buy the keyboard likeeee only RM6? Murahnyaaaa!
That was my first and I loved it!
DeleteThank you so much.
I bought the keyboard cover from Shopee. Here's the link.
august haritu pun pegi thailand jugak. memang best datang situ utk foodhunting :p
ReplyDeleteand bestnya dapat washi tape banyak tuuu boleh guna utk decorate planner hehe
Really? Kan? Makanan lah paling best skali kalau nak spend duit, and I will never going to regret it.
DeleteTau takpe, terkejut Tqa masa bukak kotak tengok dapat banyak washi tape. Can't express my gratitude enough.
the sandwich looks tasty!
ReplyDeleteIt tasted tasty too hehehe
DeleteOh, now I'm craving for one.
omg there's so much i wanted to say but that notebook is gorgeous. i love it. and am falling in love with the sandwich. you know how much i love simple menus like that.
ReplyDeleteHahaha gorgeously ugly but thank you for loving it.
DeleteI know you do hun. I love simple healthy menus like this. I'll share some more in the future :)
I enjoyed reading your post! That notebook is nice! I don't know but thanks God, you didnt post food pics for today because I KNEW IT " okie tqa gonna make me kebulur again " hahahaha
ReplyDeleteThank you. I like it when people enjoyed reading my post.
DeleteHahahaha thankfully I only got one food photos. Otherwise, I would crave for it too. LOL!
I personally love how you decorated your Muji notebook! I love that messy look! ♥

Thank you Michelle. And I like it messy like that too.
